The Rural Healthcare Gap
Thousands of people with disabilities living in rural Rwanda face significant barriers to healthcare and rehabilitation services. Long travel distances, poverty, inaccessible infrastructure, and limited specialised services often prevent children from receiving the support they need.
Bienfait Rwanda delivers mobile rehabilitation services for children with disabilities and community-based eye care for people of all ages in some of Rwanda’s most underserved rural communities.
Two Programmes – One Goal
Disability & Rehabilitation
Supporting children with disabilities through mobile rehabilitation, assistive devices, caregiver training, counseling, nutrition education and social inclusion.
Primary Eye Care
Providing accessible eye health services for children, adults and older persons in underserved rural communities.
One goal: ensuring that vulnerable people in rural Rwanda can access the healthcare services they need to live healthy, independent and dignified lives.
